Does creativity make us uncomfortable?

Apparently, it does.

The University of Illinois did a study where respondents completed a word association test.

Test subjects linked creativity with terms such as “agony”, “poison” and “vomit”.

And there’s a simple reason.

Creativity was found to be associated with the thing we all fear most.

Change.

But this aversion to creativity carries a risk.

Businesses that resist change lose out to those that welcome it.

If you don’t create, you stagnate.
